Experts on Islam are alarmed about circumstances that encourage the danger of Islamic fundamentalist regimes gaining influence in Europe’s academic circles.

How to invest money these days in a way that helps society and promotes a mutual understanding? A valid question. Can there be „dangerous“ invests that might promote detrimental societal developments? – In this interview, we focus on groups that follow certain political interests under the guise of religion, more specifically Islam, and look at the EU/QU project.

Senior Policy Advisor Afshin Sajedi is a founding member of the newly formed Iranian Front for the Revival of Law and National Sovereignity.

He holds a degree in Diplomatic and Political Relations from Iran and later earned a second degree in European Politics and Policies in Belgium. He currently serves as the European Representative and Legal Advisor at the International Organisation to Preserve Human Rights (IOPHR). As part of IOPHR’s commitment to promoting religious freedom, Afshin has spent over 15 years actively advocating for human rights, with a focus on exposing the systematic oppression of religious and ethnic minorities in Iran—particularly targeting communities such as the Gonabadi Sufis and Sunni Muslims in the southeast regions of the country.

Afshin Sajedi has authored several books and articles in both Persian and English on human rights and the political structure of the Iranian regime. Notably, he published the book „The Islamic Republic of Iran: The State Structure of Islamic Imperialism.“ In addition to his work with IOPHR, he also plays a leading role as Executive Secretary and Head of the Think Tank at the Front for the Revival of Law and National Sovereignty, furthering initiatives focused on democratic transition and legal integrity in Iran.
